Meat Loaf or Meaty Muffins
Ingredients:
200g (7oz) chicken livers
450g (1lb) minced beef
400g (14oz) potatoes
150g (5oz) carrots
50g (2oz) oats
2 eggs
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley.
Method:
Preheat oven to 180c/350f/gas4
Lightly cook the livers in simmering water for 3 mins drain then chop finely.
Peel potatoes and carrots and chop finely or grate ( I used a food chopper, much easier)
Put the mince in a bowl (raw) stir in chopped fine or grated potato & carrots and the chopped liver.
Beat the eggs and add to the meat mix along with the oats and parsley.
Now for the good bit knead it all together with your hands if you don't mind getting them dirty or use a spoon.
Scoop the mixture into a well greased loaf tin or as I did a 12 hole muffin tin again grease it well.
Bake in oven for 1-1:30 hrs if making as a loaf or 50 mins if as muffins.
Remove from oven I let them cool a little and placed them on absorbent kitchen roll to absorb some of the oil, if making a loaf allow to cool before slicing into individual portions.
They will keep in fridge for a week or freeze for upto 2 months.
These muffins or loaf make fantastic training treats to break up and give as a treat or feed a muffin or slice for a snack for lunch alternatively crumble up to make a topper for kibble.

Liver Cake
Ingredients:
300g Liver (Lamb , pig, Ox, chicken)
1 Crushed garlic clove ( optional)
1 Egg
150g Wholemeal Flour ( though plain or self can also be used)
You will need:
Food processor or a hand blender (but that takes a little longer)
Method:Pre-heat oven to 180°C or gas mark 4
Combine the Liver, crushed garlic and egg into the food processor or bowl. Blend until smooth or until the liver is in very small pieces.
Slowly start to add the flour. 5
Once all the flour has been added, the mixture should be a gloopy consistency, like a brownie mixture.
If it’s a bit too thick, add some milk. Too runny, a little more flour.
Transfer to the baking tin. Around 1 inch deep, should be OK.
Put in the oven for about 15-20 minutes. Stick a knife in the middle, if it comes out clean, it’s done.
Let it cool, dice up cake and put into bags for freezer to use when needed. Consume them within 3 days if not frozen.
